Jazz Game

My long time College Station friend, Renee, invited Bryce and I to a Jazz Game a few nights ago. It was so nice to be able to visit with her and her husband, Gary. They are awesome people and we had a fun time catching up on life. Thanks for inviting us to the game, Renee and Gary!

The weather wasn't too bad, just a little drizzle that night. We wrapped Clayton up in a blanket and put this cute hat on him. He just looked all around at the night lights as we walked down to the Energy Solutions Center. He was smiling like crazy and he looked so adorable.
Before the game, we went to Crown Burger to eat and get a parking pass. Clayton wanted to eat my hamburger the minute he saw it. We were all dressed up to go watch the Jazz. I loved this little outfit he was in that night. Go Jazz!

The Jazz beat the Bobcats and Clayton did a great job at the game. I was worried he wouldn't sit through it, but he loved it. He got scared a couple of times when the crowd got loud and crazy. He would start crying, but this only happened three times the entire night. It was alot of fun. Not what I was expecting at all. Clayton was awesome!

Family Fun

It was fun to have mom, dad, and Tyler up for a quick visit. The first night they were here, we did P90X and it was awesome because mom did the workout with Tyler and myself. I have a video clip of her doing the workout, so I will have to try to figure out how to get it on here. I am glad that she participated with us, even though dad was making fun of her kicking skills. We also got to play basketball together over at Jocelynn's church and that was alot of fun. Our family also went to the temple and that was a neat experience. Tyler had to be in his church clothes the whole time he was here, but he was a good sport about it. Its always nice to have the family visit us.

Week with the Merrills

Last week I watched my neices and nephew while my sister, Steph, and her husband, Paul went on vacation. So, I became the mother of 8 for 9 days. The kids were good and we had a great time. It's a little tiring looking after that many people, but it was nice to be able to spend some time with each of them.
Jaden and Addey loved having Cooper and Clayton stay at their house. Jaden is not one for taking pictures but he wanted to get in some pictures with Clayton. I thought they turned out cute. Addey and Jaden loved to rub Clayton head and they thought he was so chubby. The kids had a great time playing in the snow and throwing snowballs at Shaylee and her friends while they sat in the hot tub. I think their most favorites activity was playing in the hot tub. They did not miss one day getting in the hot tub. It was nice because it was so cold outside.
The day before Steph got home, we took the kids to the fun center so they wouln't mess up the house we had just cleaned. They had a great time chasing each other around on the "soft play" and they loved their pizza.
I loved the time I was able to spend with my older neices as it gives me an opportunity to get to know them better and hopefully have some sort impact in their life. Chelsey, thank you for helping me clean up the house and drive carpool for me. You are always willing to help. Continue to work hard in school. You are doing a good job and you will make a great nurse.
Kylee, I was impressed that you were so dedicated to your musical that you were up every morning at 5 am to go practice. Your are crazy and fun! Continue to make good choices and that will help you through life.

Brittney, thanks for giving me the chance to wake you up every morning at 6, even though half the time you wouldn't get up! You are a hardworker in school and on the field and I admire that about you.

Shaylee, I really enjoyed spending time with you. Thanks for helping me with Clayton. You are a very responsible young lady and you are going to go far in life with your happy attitude. You are awesome.
Thanks for letting me spend those 9 days with ya'll

Baby Shower

Steph, Jocelynn, Sherrie, and Mom had a baby shower for me last week. We had a great turn out and it was so good to see some of my friends and family. I received many special gifts and we all had a good time. I want to thank my sisters and mom for hosting this for me and Clayton.

Here is a picture of me, Jacqui, and Rachel (one of our good friends that we have played basketball with for many years).
This is me with my cute little Grandma Hatch and my Aunt Loalee Hatch.

Pickin' Apples

Grandpa Cooper takes care of this apple orchard for some of his friends, so every year he lets us go pick apples. This year there were so many apples and the kids thought it was so cool to run through the orchard and fill their bags up with apples!Look at all those green apples. We are going to dry them, and also make apple pie filling.

Out for Dinner

We went out to Garcia's for dinner when mom and Sherrie got here. As you can see, it was a little chaotic but fun to chat over good mexican food.

Visit From Mom and Sherrie

Mom and Sherrie came up to Utah to visit us and see Clayton and Cooper. Cooper had so much fun playing with Aunt Sherrie. She played a game called, "Where's Cooper" and he loved it. He did not want her to go home. Thanks Sherrie for cmoing to see our family and spending quality time with Cooper and Yoda. It meant alot to me.

Grandma helped me alot with baby Clayton. She even took feedings on two different nights, which was nice for me. Mom, thanks for coming up here and for all the help with my house and kids. I especially cherished the midnight chat about all sorts of random stuff up at the condo. It was so nice to be able to just visit with you.
Sherrie and Grandma both forgot their cameras, so Sherrie had me take lots of pictures while she was here. She also snapped alot of pictures of Clayton when she thought he looked especially cute.

Down on Grandpa's Farm

On Sunday, we had a family dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Coopers house. After everyone left, we went down to the barn with Grandpa to help bottle feed two baby calves.
Cooper thought it was pretty neat, but hard work. Those calves suck hard, so Cooper had to be strong to hold the bottle still. It was great to see Grandpa and Cooper spend that time together.
When I was young, and we would come to Utah every summer, I love to come down the barn to feed the calves with grandpa. In fact, I used to go on the tractor to bail hay and "try" to pick up the bails and move the pipe. I loved spending time on the farm....I would wear my boots, gloves and hat.

Hey, look at that! I found a beautiful picture of myself at Grandpa's house. I was all ready to get to work and help my grandpa! Wow, how things have changed in the past 20 years.

The 2nd Annual Douglas Family Reunion

About three weeks ago, we had our family reunion up at grandpa's mountain. As we were on our way to the campsite, the weather was so stormy and raining. I was really worried that we were going to spend our camping trip in a mess of mud. Well, when we got up past Smithfield, the weather was actually nice and we only had a little rain the rest of the day.

It was so much fun to watch the kids interact and play with each other. We cut down a few leaning trees and Brandon made them into a little ladder. I think the kids played on the ladder more than anything else. They would jump from the ladder to a branch and then swing to the ground.
Coopers favorite part of the reunion was going on a 4 wheeler ride with mom and dad. He sat on Bryce's lap and we went up the trail for about 45 minutes. Cooper looked so cute in his little helmet. When I pulled up next to him, he said, "Mom, we need to get some of these." Bryce took Cooper to break some snow on the trail. They thought that was pretty cool.
On the second day, we went down to Bear Lake to go swimming for a few hours. The kids had a great time even though the water was pretty cold. They spent most of their time in the little pools of water behind the sand. The Lake was beautiful as always.

Some of the activities that we enjoyed were: 1. the men playing horseshoes 2. sitting around the campfire quoting movie lines 3. going on walks 4. watching the kids play with each other 5. making great food for all our meals; 6. It was just fun spending time with each other

We all had a great time up there as a family. We missed Bruce and Jill and hope that they will be able to make it next year!

Dinosaur Delight

Last week, Jocelynn and Stephanie brought the kids down to go to the Dinosaur Park with Me, Sherrie and Jacqui. There are many activities for the kids to do and they had a great time.

Part of the park has a shaded area where the kids take brushes and brush away the sand to find dinosaur bones and eggs. This is Annika and Cooper trying to uncover this dinosaur bone.

Reese, Annika, and Addie posing in front of a T-rex. The girls had a great time together!

Inside the museum, they have lots of artifacts, dinosaur bones, and statues of dinosaurs. The kids thought this whooly mammoth was cool.

Splashin' In the Sun

Summer finally started here in Utah. It's been such a crazy June with all the rain and cooler weather, but it has been nice. It was actually near 90 degrees on Tuesday, so we let the kids play in the pool in the back yard.
They had a great time slideing into the pool on their body board. And they did a pretty good job of taking turns. Landon enjoyed dipping his face into the pool.
I had to get a picture of Annika in her cute swimsuit. She always puts in on backwards because she thinks the design on the front is a necklace. So, she goes around with a wedgie all day, but at least she has the necklace in the front!

Air Force Museum

Sherrie, Brian, and their kids stayed with us last weekend, so we decided to go check out Hill Air Force Base Museum. The kids had a great time looking at all the air craft. There are some interesting looking jets and planes. It's amazing to think that some of those big choppers can actually get off the ground. I think Brian had the best time of us all. He knows alot about the air craft because he is working for a company that makes them.

They had a seat from a cock pit that the kids could sit in and pretend they were flying.

Cooper is really into taking pictures right now, so I let him take this picture of me, Jacqui and Sherrie at the museum. I think he did a pretty good job!
