Twilight

On Saturday morning, Paul rented out a theatre and we were able to watch "Twilight". I really wasn't too excited to see it because I thought it would do the books no justice. But, I enjoyed the movie alot. I was skeptical about the actors they chose for the characters, but they ended being perfect for their parts. And Edward grew on me throughout the movie. I am looking forward to the next one.
We celebrated Steph's 40th Birthday on Saturday at Lunch. We went to Chilis with everyone and we had a great time. Later that night, we watched a movie with Sara, Derek, Jake and Shana. We had a good weekend and it was good to see our family and friends!

Carrie Underwood

On Wednesday night, we went to a Carrie Underwood Concert with Brad and Carrie. It was so much fun and she is such a great singer. I really liked how she involved the audience and I have never heard someone belt it out like she can....it is amazing to listen to her. She pulled a 14 year old out of the audience and let her help sing "American Girl". She also said that one of the things that she loves the most about her job, is the songs that she gets to sing. I really like Carrie because she seems so down to earth.
This was the second time that we were able to see her in concert with Carrie and Brad and we had a great time with ya'll. Thanks for hanging out with us that night. It's always a fun time with ya'll.

Just For Today....

My good friend, Nancy, sent me this thought and I wanted to share it with you. It really makes you put things in perspective.

Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play. *Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together. *Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles. *Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck and I will buy you one if he comes by. *Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned. *Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them. *Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys. *Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you. *Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry. *Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars. Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows. Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.

Trick o Treat

This year for Halloween, Cooper chose to be Bumblebee from Transformers. This past week, his Joy School hosted a halloween party and he got to particapate in many fun activities. The kids got to make hotdog mummies.(we called them pigs in a blanket). Cooper thought that was kind of neat. Then the kids tried to eat a donut off a string. Cooper tried and tried and finally used his hands. Once he got his hands on it, he devoured it.
Next, the children painted small pumpkins. Cooper really enjoys painting right now so it kept him entertained for quite a while. And his pumpkin was very pretty and colorful. The kids also did a pumpkin walk. The party was alot of fun. Thanks goes out to all those who made it go!
On Halloween night, our ward had the infamous trunk o treat. It was actually a stake thing, so there were tons of people handing out candy. Afterwards, we took the kids (Reese, Cooper, and Jaxson) trick o treating to houses. That brought back lots of memories as the kids ran from house to house. And they were so excited. It is probably the first year that Cooper really got the whole "trick o treating" experience.
We then went and ate dinner and played games with Jacqui, Jared, Amy, and Aaron. It was so much fun and we enjoed spending time with our friends.

I thought this picture was so adorable. Little Landon in his skunk costume! (Jacqui's baby)
