Quotes from Coop

It is just crazy how quickly children grow up and are constantly learning new things. We sing a song in church called "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam". Anyway, Bryce and I sing it with Cooper at home and he always yells "Sunbeep" instead of sunbeam. And while yelling this, he jumps up in the air and raises his hands in the air. It is so cute and makes us laugh every time. We are also trying to work with him on his "C"'s. He always says, "I want to hee(see) that" or "I want hum(some). He calls Shayne, hayne, and Sean, haun, and Sherrie, harry. So, it has been neat to watch him concentrate to make sure he is pronouncing that C or S sound and it is cute the way his tongue rolls off his teeth. Another thing that he is saying alot, is "I would love to." I asked him the other day, if he wanted to see daddy. "I would love to see daddy." He also like to say, "I love me some chocolate milk."

I have been very impressed with Cooper's manners. He always remembers to say "thank you" and "please" and this makes me happy. It makes me proud to have a polite little boy.

During the long winters up here, we have been trying to keep busy with some indoor activities. Cooper has enjoyed playing with his Lincoln Logs or Legos. He also loves it when mom lets him use glue to do crafts. Cooper also loves to draw and color with markers and it is fun to watch him hold the markets correctly and try to stay in the lines when he is coloring. Another one of Cooper's skills, is that he is really good at the "I Spy" books. He can spy out the objects quickly.

A couple of nights ago, I was showing Cooper a picture of a little girl who was looking up at Jesus. Cooper said, "I love Jesus." Then he preceded to say, "I love my mama, I love Jesus, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen" Momma, I took off my hat!" We have been teaching him that we don't pray with our hats on and so he must have remembered this.

Cooper is really in to Spiderman and Lightning McQueen. He has spiderman pajamas and a little spiderman action figure that he sleeps with every night. Many nights, he will come into our room in the middle of the night and tell us he has lost his spiderman. He is growing up tooo fast!

Here are some of Coopers most favorite toys right now. He carries this knife around with him all day and the little dog he got when he was a brand new baby from his cousin, Hunter.
I cannot get Cooper to eat anything for breakfast. Ever since he stopped drinking a bottle at 11 months, he has never liked milk. It has been just recently that he will even have a bowl of cereal with milk. And he won't even do that in the morning. So, I offer him 10 different kinds of cereal, eggs, pancakes, granola bars, pop tarts, etc. The only thing I can get him to have is a Slimfast Chocolate Drink. They are packed with lots of vitamins so I guess it's Ok for now.

Cars from the Past!!

On Valentine's Day, Bryce not only got a present from me, but Alpine (his work) also surprised him with a work truck. Bryce was really excited and appreciative. It's a little Nissan two door truck and it is perfect. We decided that when he got a work truck, that we would sell our Toyota 4-runner. So, we decided to list it on KSL cars, which is a Salt Lake City website where you can sell your vehicles for free. Anyway, little did we know that our 4-runner would be sold in just 2 days. It was kind of sad, because it is a good vehicle and we have taken many fun trips in the car. We have gone four wheeling to Moab twice and both times we did the trails in our 4-runner. Many people thought we were crazy, but the Toyota was awesome and Bryce is a really good driver also. We also have been camping many times with our trailer in tow behind our trusty Toyota. Needless to say, it has been a good, fun vehicle. We are saving alot on gas and insurance though so it has been nice. And the best part is, we came out ahead after we paid off our loan. You can't beat that! Now, we have a nice down payment when we decide to buy another car.

When we sold our car, it made me think about all the cars that we have owned since we got married 7 years ago. We had a Honda Accord, Honda CRV, Honda Accord, Toyota 4-runner, Toyota pickup truck, Hyundai Elantra and our Toyota Landcruiser. I guess you could say that we like foreign made vehicles. Or better yet, we like having dependable vehicles that maintain their value.

Weekend in Review

Bryce had a church basketball game on Friday night. His team played the older team from our ward and Bryce's team got beat. I always tell Bryce that he needs to jack up shots just like the rest of his team, but he doesn't want to be a ball hog. Anyway, he really enjoys being able to get out and play every once in a while and love being able to go watch him.

Saturday, we went up to Logan for the weekend. Thanks to Marilyn, who watched Cooper for us, we were able to go out on a date. We went to Cafe Rio with Steph, Paul, Jocie, and kids. The food was great! After lunch, we went to watch "Definately, Maybe". It wasn't the greatest movie in the world. Another one of those that you can wait and rent for a buck. It was fun to be able to spend some time with family. Later that night, we went over to Steph's for a little while to let Cooper play with Jaden and Addey. Jaden and Cooper chased the dog around with their play shot guns. Then they all took a shower in the new, huge, awesome shower. Hopefully, I will get my turn soon. They had alot of fun.

Saturday night we had Jake and Shanna over for a movie at the Douglas'. We watched an old movie about a girls basketball team that eventually wins State. But at first, they were horrible. Anyway, it was a good flick. Afterwards, we played Guitar Hero with Jake and Shanna. Thanks for the spending the evening with us. It is always good to see ya'll when we visit Cache Valley.

On Sunday, we had a birthday party for Marilyn. Brandon, Jaydale, Carrie, Brad, Us, and Roger and Marilyn cooked out on the grill and enjoyed cake and ice cream afterwards. Cooper was so excited to see his cousins. Olivia was the first one to arrive and grandma's and Cooper started acting like a crazy man because he was so happy to see her. She wasn't quite sure what to think of him. She is a little bit scared of Cooper. When Porter and Maverick arrived, they got hugs and kisses on their cheeks. Then Cooper went up to Papa and said, "Papa, I love everybody." It was so cute to watch him be excited to see his cousins and play with them for the afternoon. He plays so well with Porter and Maverick.

Happy Valentines Day

I have realized this year, that Valentines Day is a holiday that creates different opinions and feelings. Some men feel that this is a dumb holiday, because it is just an excuse to get each other more presents. A question was posed to me by my brother-in-law, Paul : "Wouldn't you rather have your husband do small little things for you all year round instead of one big present on Valentines's Day?" The problem is, not very many men do little things for their wives throughout the year. I do know a few, maybe 1% of the population... so I say to them, good job, keep up the good work, and would you offer a class to the other 99% of men. So, personally I think they need this day to remind themselves that #1 they do in fact love their wives, #2 it reminds them that maybe they should ask their wives on a date, #3 gives them the opportunity to put a little extra thought into a gift that their wives would enjoy. And lucky for me, my husband did all three things and I am proud of him. Anyways, hope everyone had a good Valentines Day!

We had a great Valentines Day! I gave Cooper a heart attack in his room when he woke up. He was so excited. He ran into my room and told me that there were balloons and hearts all over his room. I cut out these hearts and plastered them all over his walls. Grandma and Grandpa Hatch also sent him a nice helium balloon with candy tied to the bottom. Thanks Grandma for always being so thoughtful!! You are the best.

My awesome husband really surprised me for Valentines Day and I am very thankful that he put thought into my gift. It really meant alot to me. He got me a rose, a Elliot Yami
n CD and a card. Included in the card, was an hour massage. Thanks, Bryce for giving me a fun Valentines's Day. I love you. You are great. I love massages so much. I think everyone needs to experience a good massage. It's one of the most beautiful things in the world. If I had the money, I would definately get one every month. Anyway, my gift to him was boring but needful. I got him a blue tooth, since he is always on the phone and always driving for work.

Cooper went to Joy School and they had a Valentines Party. He got to decorate some sugar cookies and he received valentines day cards from all of his freinds. When I was shopping for the cards that he was going to give his classmates, it brought back lots of fun memories about grade school. I remember getting a shoe box and cutting a slat in it and then having my classmates put my Valentines cards inside. I would be so excited when I got home to count all my cards and see how much candy I received. Anyway, it was alot of fun and I hope that I can help Cooper so that he will also have those good memories.

I cooked dinner and then we went to the movies. We watched "Jumper", which wasn't that great. In fact, wait to rent it from red box...not worth the money. But, it was fun to spend the evening with Bryce. Thank you Jacqui for watching Cooper for us, but most importantly, thank you for making us the 'Olive Gardens' Black Tie Mousse Pie. It was awesome and I really appreciate you doing that for us.
