6 Weeks

Clayton turned 6 weeks today. He is starting to lift his head alot more. Bryce calls him "bobble head" right now. He is getting stronger though. He is also a very loud baby...he likes to make lots of sounds. He grunts alot while he is sleeping and after he eats his bottles. It is very hard to sleep in the same room with him and expect to get any sleep. He also sounds like he is starving when he is drinking his bottles.

Clayton got his first enima tonight. The poor baby has been having a rough time these last few days. It helped and he feels alot more relaxed and content.
He loves it when mom and dad hold him. He just seems to calm right down when we pick him up. When we talk to him, he tries so hard to talk to us. He moves his mouth and sticks his tongue out. Clayton also loves to take baths with mom. Its cute to watch his little frog legs move back and forth. He also opens his eyes while he is sleeping. You can see the whites of his eyes as they roll back. I love to watch him when he first falls asleep because that is when he smiles the most.

Congratulations Tyler

My little brother, Tyler, just got his mission call to Guatemala, Guatemala. He will leave in February and will serve an LDS mission for two years. I just wanted to let Tyler know how proud I am of him. He has always been such a neat peron and a great example to me. I hope my boys will grow up to be like their Uncle Tyler. Tyler, I am happy that you made this big decision to go on a mission and teach people the gospel of Jesus Christ. You will be a great missionary and I know you will accomplish great things. Thank you for being such a good brother and friend. I will always look up to you. (not just literally) I love you.

Hollywood Connection

As many of you know, it is kind of hard to juggle your time when you have a new baby. One of the most common questions I get asked, is, "how is Cooper adjusting to the new baby?" Well, Cooper is doing great. I feel like Cooper has adjusted perfectly. It is me that is the problem. It's just hard because obviously Cooper isn't getting all that one-on-one time with me that he used to, but that is understandable since I have two kids to split my time with now. Anyway, Cooper does not seem to notice so we must be doing ok at spending time with both kids.
Well, last week Jacqui watched Clayton so I could take Cooper and we could spend some time with each other and his cousins. We went to an indoor theme park called Hollywood Connection. Steph lined up all the reservations and got great prices for everyone. Thank you Stephanie for planning and providing the fun activity for all of us. We had a great time!
It was nice to be able to spend time with Cooper. We rode on a dragon roller coaster. We also went on the merry go round. One of our most favorite activities was the laser tag. I wore the vest and Cooper held the gun. I would just follow him around and he would shoot everyone. He thought that was the coolest thing ever. He had fun hiding and then jumping out and shooting people. He ended up in second place out of 10.
He also loved playing the minature golf. Jocelynn showed him how to hold his hands correctly and after that he would concentrate and try to do it right. He did a great job. He would tee off and then go pick up his ball and put it right by the hole. Then he would hit it in. A great strategy I thought!!!

Mom, Jocelynn, and Stephanies most favorite ride was the dragon roller coaster!

Halloween Activities with Grandma

Last week, Stephanie invited us up to stay in her condos up at Wolf Creek. The kids had a blast swimming in the hot tub and going on walks down by the pond. We even saw two beautiful foxes while we were there. Mom had some fun Halloween activities for the kids. She let them decorate cupcakes into spiders and cats. They had a great time and it was fun to watch them each be creative in their own ways. Thanks mom for always doing fun little activites for the kids. I love watching you interact with all the kids because you have such a talent with these young kids and I can see how much you love each child. Thanks for being so patient and loving. You are a great example to all of us.

Baby Shower

Steph, Jocelynn, Sherrie, and Mom had a baby shower for me last week. We had a great turn out and it was so good to see some of my friends and family. I received many special gifts and we all had a good time. I want to thank my sisters and mom for hosting this for me and Clayton.

Here is a picture of me, Jacqui, and Rachel (one of our good friends that we have played basketball with for many years).
This is me with my cute little Grandma Hatch and my Aunt Loalee Hatch.

Big "Helper"

Cooper has become such a big boy and helper since we brought Clayton home from the hospital. The first day we came home, Cooper proceeded to get bread, ranch, and mustard out of the fridge and make himself a sandwich for lunch. He ate the whole thing and then put everything away. He has also been setting the table for me at lunch and helping me cook eggs and quesadillas. I am so proud of him. He helps me so much and I am so thankful for him.
He has also spent lots of time with his cousins since the baby has come. He has such a great time with each of them. In fact, every night he prays to Heavenly Father: " thank you I could play with my cousins today. " He has so many awesome cousins and friends!

Pickin' Apples

Grandpa Cooper takes care of this apple orchard for some of his friends, so every year he lets us go pick apples. This year there were so many apples and the kids thought it was so cool to run through the orchard and fill their bags up with apples!Look at all those green apples. We are going to dry them, and also make apple pie filling.

Out for Dinner

We went out to Garcia's for dinner when mom and Sherrie got here. As you can see, it was a little chaotic but fun to chat over good mexican food.

Father- Son Campout

Bryce, being the good dad that he is, decided to take Cooper camping last weekend. Just the two of them went up for one night to Mantua Campgrounds. They roasted hot dogs over the fire and Cooper had a great time climbing the nearby hills. Bryce said Cooper was completely covered in dirt before he even got things set up.
The next morning they went on a 4-wheeler ride up to Willard Peak. They called me when they got to the top and Cooper was having such a fun time with his dad. On the way back down the trail, they came upon a wreck. An older couple had been drinking and rolled their 4-wheeler. Bryce was the first on the scene. The lady was responding but the man was face down and not responding. He had blood coming out of his ears and he had a cut on his face that was all the way to the bone. Bryce had Cooper sit over on the 4 wheeler, so he would not see all the blood. Bryce helped mobilize them until life flight and first responders came. The police showed up and gave Cooper a silver badge for "waiting patiently" while Bryce filled out a bunch of paper work.
Bryce and Cooper made it home safely and had a great time together. I am so thankful that Bryce took the time to spend the weekend with Cooper. He really needed that special "one on one" time and attention.

Visit From Mom and Sherrie

Mom and Sherrie came up to Utah to visit us and see Clayton and Cooper. Cooper had so much fun playing with Aunt Sherrie. She played a game called, "Where's Cooper" and he loved it. He did not want her to go home. Thanks Sherrie for cmoing to see our family and spending quality time with Cooper and Yoda. It meant alot to me.

Grandma helped me alot with baby Clayton. She even took feedings on two different nights, which was nice for me. Mom, thanks for coming up here and for all the help with my house and kids. I especially cherished the midnight chat about all sorts of random stuff up at the condo. It was so nice to be able to just visit with you.
Sherrie and Grandma both forgot their cameras, so Sherrie had me take lots of pictures while she was here. She also snapped alot of pictures of Clayton when she thought he looked especially cute.
