Living Planet Aquarium

This past Friday, Cooper didn't have school because of Teacher Development day. Bryce left work a few hours early and we took the kids down to Sandy to visit the Living Planet Aquarium. Bryce took Cooper there when he was 3 yrs old, so its been a while and he had forgotten about it. The boys had a fun time looking at all the different kinds of fish and "water creatures". The aquarium has really advertised their two newest additions, the otters. But, the otters were sound asleep when we got there. Cooper enjoyed watching the jellyfish float effortlessly throught the water. He also loved the bright, tropical aquariums. He was able to reach down in a shallow lagoon and pet a stingray. He thought they felt slimy. The boys also got to touch a garder snake and watch a ginormous sea turtle surf through the water. My favorite part of the museum was the penguins. We could see them swim under the water or walk up on the rocks. It was fascinating to watch them fly through the water at high speeds and then jump on the shore with ease. They are really interesting birds to watch. I love how they push their chests out when they walk. We spent about an hour and a half at the aquarium. Clayton started getting bored and complaining about being hungry, so we headed to the nearest McDonalds where the boys inhaled their Happy Meals and then played for a few minutes. The next part of the evening was the most exciting for me. It was something I was looking forward to all week long! I was envisioning it everyday until we finally arrived at....Sonny Bryan's Texas BBQ!!!! It was all I hoped for......a delicious, slow cooked, bbq smothered, brisket sandwich, steaming hot fried okra dipped in homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh hot rolls, and to top it all off just right....a big, ice cold, glass of Dr. Pepper! OH, I was in Heaven! All in all, it was a great day and its always fun to take these opportunities to spend time with our kids one on one. Too often I think we neglect those special chances to be together as a family unit. Time flies by too quickly and so I am trying to make the best of these times! Love my husband and boys!

I don't believe you are allowed to have Dr. Pepper.
