Our Vacation

Now that I have over 1500 pictures from all my friends, I can start trying to organize and put together some post of our 7 day Western Caribbean Cruise. There are so many pictures and we did so many things that its hard to even know where to start. We went on the cruise with the Moyes, Markers, and Casebolts. They are some of our good friends from Roy.

DAY 1- Boarding the Carnival Valor and Leaving Miami Port

We flew out to Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday January 15th. We got to our hotel in Miami at 11:30 pm Eastern Time and we were all starving. Good thing there was a Bennigans restaurant right next to our hotel that stayed open till 2 am. We ate and then crashed.
The next morning, we got up, ate breakfast and started getting things packed up. We had plenty of time to get out some games like Apples to Apples. We also played Five Crowns down in the lobby while we were waiting for our bus to pick us up.
Finally, the bus came and picked us up. He drove us up to our Cruise Line, Carnival. We unloaded all our lugguge and headed inside to set up our "Fun Pass Cards" (ship credit card) and get ready to board the ship.
We ended up being on Deck 1, which was at the bottom of the ship. I was actually presently surprised at how nice the rooms were. We unloaded our stuff and headed up to find some food and to explore the ship. There were 10 floors and we decided to take the stairs while we were on the cruise. WE didn't want to gain the average 2 pounds a day while on the ship!
Our boat left Miami at 4 pm that day. It's so crazy to watch these gigantic boats manuever in the water. We ate ice cream as our ship sailed on pass some other ships.

Later that night we ate dinner in the WAshington Room, which is where we would eat every night, at the same table with the same waitress and waiter. The food was so good and most of my meals always included shrimp. YUM!

After dinner, we were off to sing at the kareoke in the Eagles Lounge. Holly and I sang "Earl Had To Die". That was the first night we met kareoke shirley and kareoke erin (other singers).

Every night they would have a show of some sort in the Ivanhoe Theater. Its amazing they can have a room this size on a boat. We spent lots of time in the Theater watching the "Carnival hookers, I mean, dancers", the marriage game with Roger and Luann, Marcus Anthony, and the Battle of the Sexes Game.
Our ship also had a big screen on it. They played movies twice a night up on the balcony. One night, we went out and watched part of "Leap Year." The weather was perfect and it was nice to just kick back and relax on the beach chairs.

Stay tuned for more on our cruise!
